The Department of Hindi was established in 1975. The Department aspires to be leading centre of studies in Hindi by integrating modern and the contemporary concepts, skills, Technology and to attain state, national and international renown.

Hindi is offered as Part I Programme for the Under Graduate students. The college is situated in the Non-Hindi region; hence more emphasis is given on imparting the communication skills to the students in Hindi. A Certificate course in Hindi is offered as a Job-Oriented course.

Hindi is the powerful link language of our country. Majority of the Indian population speaks Hindi as a language. It has been enjoying global recognition as well. Hence our Department aims in providing a good platform for the students to acquire good knowledge of Hindi language and Literature. It also helps to the students to get an exposure to functional aspects of Hindi. The Department committed to organize National Seminars, Inviting Lecturers, Workshops, Guest Lectures etc, which is useful for students to understand the trends of Hindi literature.

CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) has been introduced by Govt of Andhra Pradesh in all Govt Degree Colleges from the Academic Year 2015-16. The student may take optional as Hindi subject.

The Department of Hindi offers courses leading to B.A / B.Com / B.Sc Degree. Its teaching programme is designed to provide students with a broad overview of Poetry and Prose.
