About Department:
The Department of Economics is one of the prestigious Departments in the college and it was established in 1975. The college launched its programme of under graduate studies, which is affiliated to S.K.University, Anantapuram District of Andhra Pradesh.
The Department is maintained separate academic Departmental library, distributed academic books to the students. The staff is highly experienced and qualified. The Department aspires to be leading centre of Economic studies and contemporary concepts, skills, technology and attain State, National, and International Economic affairs studies. The intension of the Department is to providing quality of Higher Education to the students. The Department success rate is more than 95 pass percentage and 10 to 15% of the students are got admission into the PG (Post Graduate) (Economics) course in every year.

To provide a general understanding of the functioning of the economic system and the role of institutions, groups and regions and to prepare the student for better employment in the fields.The aim of the Department is to achieve high quality education, job oriented, and research relevant to the local, regional, and national needs.

Economics is known as queen of arts subjects, which is related to people's daily affairs of the nation. Therefore the Department aims to provide a good platform for the students to acquire knowledge of Economics, and concepts of State, National Economies, Economic policies and Developmental theories etc.
CourseStructure:
The course structure is designed as per UGC guidelines and APSCHE. The Department of Economics specialized with not only Micro- Macro Economic theories and also State, National Economies, their economic policies etc. The cluster subjects specially focused on Rural Economy, Rural Industrialization, Rural marketing, Indian Economy along with Andhra Pradesh Economy. These are useful for Academic as well as competitive exams.
